Had most cattle out until yesterday when brought in 12 cows with calves at foot ready to wean ground so wet after snow nowhere much to lie down gave them the benefit 2 days ago but decided enough was enough so glad we did after the rain we had last night then snow then frost. Like Mark says post a pic the danger could be cattle getting knocked over and falling if they start fighting or bulling if its really steep

They found a small self set tree. But is a worry that people will dump things in your field especially if next to houses which we have had from time to time.

it seems it was a small self set tree they think caused the damage as they were unaware they had any yew. Think it was the speed of it and the fact doesnt take much.

Just had some bad news off a couple who bought some youngstock off me last year 9 dexters and couple AAx apparently they got into ungrazed field that he owns wasnt to worried but fetched them out fairly quickly so hadnt been in long 3 died shortly after then another 6 died by 9pm same day. Pm reveal...

Our first bull was short and he served simmental cross holstein suckler cow no probs biggest problems with dexter bulls is stopping them this bull you knew cow was coming bulling 2/3 days before he served her as he would follow her round .Just watch him with heifer calves as dexter come into season ...

Yes they have put eartag numbers up for those cattle thats how i found out about the Churcholme cattle entered by C Dews. But you are right may be worth checking tags of others.

York Rare Breed Sale

Catalogue for York Rare Breed Sale out now - quite a few Dexters about 30 in including some that have been put in the non-registered section as owner not a member i think as advertised as previously registered. Seem to be 5 Churcholme cattle bred by Penny Hodgson and a Nentsberry cow with calf.
