Re: East of England Show 2013
On the subject of tb, I still don't think that defra the government and the likes realise quite how many badgers there are in the country, I would even go as far to say their estimates would not even be within 50% of the population, what I do no is that in the last 15 years the badger population has...

There never is many other dairy breeds there but it's always a good show and you know when you get a prize there it always means a good deal, perhaps they could add the dexters in with the beef animals like they did at royal Norfolk ? Vicky

Re: Sale of Pedigree Dexter Cattle

Re: best truck for towing?
As I understand the law when we done our trailer tests through the company I work for ( does everything to the letter ) the tachometer bit is a very grey area and after seeking legal advice we do not require tachometers for agricultural based/type of work, if we followed the guidelines that Duncan m...

Re: best truck for towing?
The first thing you really need to work out is how much weight are you going to be towing and what size trailer you have as this will narrow your options, there are not many motors that can tow 3.5 ton legally and most of the double cab jap motors are around 3 ,

Re: Dexter Housing - PLEASE HELP
I think I would have put in for a ag storage building, and not mentioned about housing the cattle. New stock housing in this area requires catchment tanks and concrete floors and jousts doubles the cost of everything, pretty sure for a ag storage building you do not require pp for under a certain si...

What a dilemma though, this same person bought an in calf heifer from me for £500 a month ago. The showing heifer is worth £900 to me for beef next spring/summer. What are peoples thoughts on that? same here, they are worth about double hanging upside down on a hook. don't get too sentimental. if t...

Re: pushing them too quick to finish
the main question in the opening post was aimed towards the taste of a finished animal, grass verses cereal and by/products, cereal based ration will leave a harder fat cover that will be of a harder texture and not disperse as easily through the joint whilst cooking, in my opinion there is no subst...
