No I missed it and cannot be bothered with the BBC iPlayer. Off the BBC website http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/tv_and_radio/menu_southeastthree.shtml "It was time for the main event on Wednesday, the main course. Jason cooked Dexter beef sourced from Badger's Farm in Surrey, while Atul visited Rich...

I personally love looking at photos of other people's animals and always look forward to Stephanie's latests posts!

However, given the lack of photos on the Cattle For Sale ads on this site is this something sellers are able / willing to do?

I have nothing scientific to back this up, but I have read on the internet about ivy being used as a general "pick-me-up" for livestock and apparently the Romans used it as winter feed for their cattle.

I had been hoping to rent a 6 acre field behind my local pub, but the new managers want to put their ponies on 2 acres of it and let me rent the remaining 4 acres. The ADHO has said it is fine from the point of view of the Sole Occupancy Authority, but in practical terms how well do Dexters and pon...

I too read it from cover to cover without putting it down. Normally it sits in a pile and only gets picked up occaisionally.

Thank you to all those involved.

I am also a novice and have benefited from discussions with many members both those involved with the society and those that are not. I have no issues with how we got to this situation, but do think it is important that the society moves as rapidly as possible to a new constitution and elections to...

Many of the sites are small and fragmented, might it be possible for them to be encompassed within one holding allowing movements between sites without TB tests and other movement restrictions? Some land will be under different ownership but a community land trust will over see it's management Get ...

I came across this link http://www.qmscotland.co.uk/cutting/ on another forum and thought it might be of interest to some people on here.

Some excellent videos of cutting beef into the primary cuts.

Hope you find it useful.

You could try some other website forums e.g. Have Your Say on http://www.rivercottage.net.

I have read the minutes and have to admit it has not helped clarify the situation for me! I just hope the steering group can quickly draw up a new constitution and hold an EGM so that we ratify it and elect a new council so the society can move forward. Do we have a timetable for achieveing this? I...

My apologies in advance if this post is slightly off topic, but has the society ever considered separating the function of managing the breed i.e. registrations, membership etc. from the society? Is there not an opportunity for the breed secretary and admin staff to be run as a private company for ...

Does anyone know what the mortatility rate is in cattle?

All I've found on the web is reference to the 70% in sheep, but no figure for cattle. Some of the articles suggest it is not really a problem for cattle, but they are the main vector for the disease.

Saffy,

It is a normal condition on any mortgage that the mortgage company have your property as security.

I can understand you not wanting to give your main home as security, but for them to ask for the barn as security is perfectly normal.
