Re: Online herd book.

Di, perhaps you could remind those who have forsaken this list for social media that this site is still active but could do with more correspondents to keep the interest going in the stock for sale.

Roger Robson RIP

There's an obituary of Roger Robson in the local paper. People here may remember him as he was a Dexter judge. Very nice person.

Here's hoping that 2021 pans out rather better than 2020 did.

Re: Overweight cows

Have you tried feeding straw rather than hay in the round feeder? Alternating one week on hay with no supplements and one week on straw with mineral lick supplement might help. Have you any way of not feeding them ad lib?

Re: Overweight cows

How are you feeding them over winter? Have you a building where they can be penned individually, or tied up with neck chains the old-fashioned way? That way you can determine the ration for each animal so that they cannot over eat on ad lib fodder. There never used to be fat cattle in spring turned ...

Re: List your ideas of things to do with your cows on Lock Down

Another job to do is to get the senior bull, Baranduin Delta, handled again. He has been out on loan for nearly two years and has been allowed to forgot his manners. He will now stand to have his tail head scratched and flanks stroked again but will only allow his forehead to be touched when his nos...

Black heifer Pattypan. If there are any show classes next year, Coraline and Pattypan will hopefully go in Pairs.
All three heifers will be for sale in 2021, enquiries welcome.

Re: List your ideas of things to do with your cows on Lock Down

It's been a rush to get ahead of things before lockdown 2. Steer has gone for beef, freezer full now. Cows home early from summer keep and possibility of some autumn grazing is now on hold. It would have been the Calf Show shortly, so have been taking snaps of the potential entries. Not looking thei...

Re: Possible scam

It's a long time since variations of this topic came up but just to make people aware that it seems to be happening again. I've had a "Kamila Taylor" wanting to buy Manx Loaghtan rams, who will send a courier (sic) to collect but needs all my bank details & personal info before sending...

Might your contact be interested in Rosewood Glenkinchie? I've got too many of his relations in the herd now.
