Hi Kathy; Hate to say it but our Icelandic sheep, another european short tail, winter out of doors also, as a matter of fact so do my Dexters, with field leans for shelter. Pnuemonia is our concern in barning the animals too. Besides, they seem to coat up and brave the -20C nights without a problem...

Hi kathy; Glad to see it wasn't 'orphaned' by one of yours. I bottle feed everyone, because I want the milk!, and as long as they get adaquate colostrum, I let them get a little hungry and then they seem to take to the bottle right away! This is just what I've noticed but heifers seem to take longe...

Hi Issy; I have to agree with Duncan, mange or fungal (ringworm or 'rain rot'). This is just a lay person's observations of my animal but rain rot (I don't know the real name) is usually on the back and makes hairless scabby, grey, circles where the moisture has gotten under the winter coats, and t...
