Post by M Blake »

Having just watched Countryfile whilst thoroughly enjoying our roast Dexter Rib I am thinking did I read that Dexters eat knotweed ? I am sure I saw this somewhere but the brains not quite engaging wonder if anyone has had any experience.

Yes, Saffy said it some time ago if I recall correctly.

Both sheep and cattle will eat Japanese Knotweed - if there is a patch on the opposite side of the fence any shoots appearing in a grazed field will just be gobbled up and it does not seem to spread into the field as long as there is livestock there. Mine eat it all the time and I have never been aware of any bad effects.
