It's Coming!

Post by Jac »

It came to Scotland and Northern Ireland in compulsory form. Wales had already offered subsidised testing in the past to gauge the extent of the problem a few years ago and now looks as if it is on its way to England https://bvdfree.org.uk/ although I can't see any mention of subsidies. I notice that in the Farmers Weekly (July) comments were made regarding fears that Welshpool and Shrewsbury markets could become a 'dumping ground' for PI calves - something to look out for if you are buying calves in for double suckling.

I think it is just great that the 'bvd free' is going to maintain a database of BVD test results for a nominal charge but not so great if you are already paying to belong to a health scheme and have to pay again for the duplication of published results.
