DCS Herd book volumes 1-9 are now entered complete on Legacy. All but five of the first 24 volumes are entered, and three of those are in progress. All of the 1930's except two are also entered complete. There are many, many, historical photos that can be seen with individual listings, or . .. . even better, displayed in the pedigrees. The pedigree option displays with photos. The Customized search is a great tool for individualized searches for research.
Choose an ancestor in your pedigree, enter the name in the search bar, and if there is an entry, than click on *I* for the individual information or *P* for the extended pedigree.
The Irish pedigrees are connected to the early English Dexters.
All information in the herd book entry is added in the notes section.
There is a list of all entered herd books on the "Forum" tab on the website.
If you have ANY photos of cattle in these herd books, it would be wonderful to add them. Seeing a pedigree with the corresponding animals adds insight into breeding results as well.
