Pat Short, Elmwood Dexters.

Post by moomin »

Just to let you know Pat Short passed peacefully away last night after a long illness. She was our President this year.
If you didn't know Pat she was our archivist and collected lots of photographs which she displayed at many events.
She was the owner of the Elmwood Dexters and bred Elmwood Mackoy.
Pat had a huge love for the breed and she will be sorely missed.
Helen Wing ,one of our judges is Pat's daughter so Pa'ts legacy lives on.
Condolences to her family.
Goodbye Pat, my friend.

Sad to hear Pat has passed away. I learned a lot from pat. Her knowledge of bloodlines was incredible, just mention an animal and she could reel of its pedigree. She had a passion for true traditional dexters. We had the best of times showing and socialising with the lovely central Dexter group. RIP Pat.

There was an email with two pics, which is how I heard the sad news. Pat will be missed not least for her incredible photgraphic displays, and enthusiastic dancing at the AGMs.

Mrs Pat Short
Mrs Pat Short of the well-known Elmwood Pedigree Dexter Herd and current President of the Dexter Cattle Society passed away peacefully on Wednesday night after a long illness.
She will be sadly missed and the Society and members wish to convey sincere condolences to Andy, Wendy, Helen and their families.
Funeral details to follow shortly.

I had known Pat for a good number of years, we always had a laugh. She was truly passionate about her dexters and had an incredible knowledge of bloodlines and dexter history, her project to keep society photos of old and new bloodlines is unrivalled. Her shoes will be difficult to fill, my memories of hearing her voice above the crowd will always draw a smile, RIP Pat.
