BBC One 3rd January 2022 Farmer Country Showdown featuring my Greyfriars Dexter Cattle
I read the DCFS Discussion Board, but I don't know how to post things, so I thought I would contact you direct to see if this might be of interest to post on the Discussion Board ...
With an interesting story to tell (with my health impairments and valuable conservation work with my Dexters) I was asked if I could feature in the BBC’s Farmer Country Showdown programme - filming me at home with my husband Simon; at one of the Nature Reserves where my Dexters graze; and at the Edenbridge Show in August this year. The programme is due to air on 3rd January 2022 at 15:45.
The filming for the programme was extremely challenging with my health conditions and the payback was immense, taking weeks to recover from the resulting malaise … but it was a very rewarding experience and a great opportunity to share the benefits of pasture-farming with Dexter cattle; as well as highlighting unknown disabilities such as Marfan Syndrome and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis - showing that you can still achieve things, with the right support.
I've attached the advert for the BBC One programme. Sorry it's rather short notice, but I only found out the date from the BBC this week and we are the first one in the series!
Following this, the Dexter Cattle Society are running a feature on me for their Annual Herd Book soon to be published.
