Were looking for a dexter cow/heifer that is very well handled and will enjoy being bought up from the field and being groomed by myself and a selection of 15-19 year olds with learning disabilities. Ex show cow would be perfect, must be very quiet and friendly, obviously halter trained and either due to calf soon or with calf at foot that is any sex as castration would be considered for young bulls so they can too be halter trained and groomed and kept as a pet. Were in the lincoln area so all surrounding counties will be considered and if it's particularly perfect a little bit further. I'm looking for a Dexter, any colour, preferably non-short for life as a house cow. She will need to be friendly, halter broken and ideally used to being hand-milked, either in calf or with a young calf at foot. We have an cattle and sheep farm which was a dairy farm not so long ago so are used looking after cattle and their milking. She would have other cows for company but be a pet! We live just outside of Builth in Mid-Wales so most places in Shropshire, Hereford and Worcestershire or Mid or South Wales would be ok. I am looking for a short dexter cow or steer in either red or black, don't mind age. It is for my 14 year old son who has taken a huge likeing to the Dexter Cattle after recently getting some in at the school. He is very responsible and has grown up around animals all his life. Will be supervised by me and other farmers in the area. Will be going to live with other cattle/horses. Will be used to show at local agriculture shows so preferably halter trained but this is not a neccessity (I understand this makes them more expensive!). Cannot afford much so only sensible offers only please. I am in Kent but could possibly arrange to collect from other areas such as Essex/Hertfordshire etc. unless you can deliver (willing to pay fuel costs). Still sorting out the living arrangements so preferabbly ready to come here around about October.

Two non short Dexter cows. We have Educational Access as part of our farm CSS and wish to add" hands on " cattle experience to children. Hence the choice of the smaller type cattle. These cows will have to be docile , and halter trained for the purpose required. WE ARE NON BLUETONGUE at this moment in time , so have a restricted options available.
