It would gladden my heart no end if someone could give me proof that I could actually make a bit of money (without quota etc) by, for instance, buying weaned calves and running them on and finishing them or one of the other combinations available if I buy one of the 'commercial' breeds. This is not an idle thought - I have about 50 acres of land which (having had my fill of renting out for other peoples' sheep/cows) I will have back for my use this April.
I would be a very happy bunny indeed if anyone can prove it won't bankrupt me to extend my small herd of Dexters rather than go for commercial cattle.
