Sorry to disappoint you all but we are enjoying a spell of wonderful sunshine here on the west coast of Scotland with clear blue skies most of the day for about a week now with just a little frost at night though the ground is a little hard in the mornings you could still put a spade in. I know that the east coast is not so fortunate with a bit of snow there though. I had a very enjoyable journey yesterday to Moffat for the Scottish Group AGM followed by a trip to Annan to see the Neilson's Windyknowe herd, calling in at the McCutcheon's Whitehirst herd in Kilwinning going and coming - a good round trip of about 350 miles, well worth it.

ps what does this tell us, nothing to talk about on this site except the weather? The Burnside herd is all pennned up in the shed all winter, I spent Saturday mucking out two pens to re-arrange the occupants - Pontius has been moved in with the red polled cow which calved on new years day to leave Cuerden Candy alone as she is due to calve within a week
