Having had quite a few reds in our time, I would say that red's are the most bossy. I have also found that by the time cows get beyond seven, they get a bit bullied by the youngsters coming on. We had one long-legged black cow who was boss, I took her out of the herd for two weeks to wean her calf, when I put her back the rest of the herd had decided that she was to be boss no longer, and jolly nearly killed her! She is now back in the herd again, and is tolerated.
