Hi Carol, would be interested to read what Sheila thinks of the MG question. My documentation here is that the Grey of MG is a dominant.
This has always been demonstrated in all the 'crossings' I have seen with various pure herds using an MG Bull.
Basically the 'silver' MG is a double
the 'grey/dark' is a single and there is also a variation which shows the red underneath!

Also your explanation re the Dun gene just blew me away ...I had a conversation just reciently re this and my thoughts were that the Dun was covered by the red!
