Just received my renewal for Shogun and Ifor Williams cattle trailer, £535 an increase of £125 on last year, tried RK Harrison, however to insure with them you need to be a member of Country Landowners Association at an annual cost of £182. Steve M did you manage to find a more competative Quote ? M...

Re: Steer prices

Littleacre comments thar he was offered a 7 month old steer for £400, this may seem a bit high but was this short legged/non short ?. Have you any idea of the weight and if so what is the cost K/g live weight. This would then tell us if the vendor was asking an unrealistic price. Re cows and calves ...

Re: Export Southern Ireland

Cattle exported on Thursday and settled with the new owners. Documention, forms etc. (28 pages of guidelines) a nightmare for both myself and the Vet. However if the process is repeated should be alot easier. Haulier from Eire, Malcolm Workman, could not be faulted.

Re: bull for hire/loan

Hi Monica,

I was the previous owner of this bull and he is definately NON POLLED, we only used him for 1 season whilst searching for a polled bull and all his calves have needed to be dis-budded.

Re: Export Southern Ireland

Thanks for the reply Duncan, just wading through all the guidelines issued by Carlisle and about to commence the paperwork involved, purchaser has arranged transport so hopefully the export should take place in about 2 weeks time.

Still not fee...

Re: Pre 1996 born animals

With regards to Pre 1996 animals, I was under the impression that they could move between holdings, subject to pre-movement TB test but when the time comes for them to be culled they cannot enter the food chain i.e. as over 30 month cattle can. They would need to be killed and disposed of by the kna...
