The Mid Wales & Shropshire Group have been invited to put on a breed promotion stand at the Smallholder & Garden Festival on 19th & 20th May 2007. This popular event hosted by the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society at their showground in Builth Wells is usually featured by Channel SC4 on their farming programme and it is well publicised in a special edition of the Smallholder magazine.

We have decided this year that our display should illustrate the true dual-purpose nature of the Dexter. There will be two distinct sections on the stand - one dedicated to the production of Dexter beef and the other dairy, where we will show the public how dairy produce can be made from Dexter milk. There will hopefully be live milking (never work with animals or children) on both days of the show.

We are appealing for helpers to man the stand(s) (especially members of the Mid Wales and Shropshire and West Wales Groups)

There will also be a public presentation (one hour duration) on the Dexter breed which will take place at Speakers Corner at 1.30 pm on Saturday 19th May. We have written to the Society for assistance and hope that they will supply a guest speaker.

If you are going to the show and able to help in any way would you please contact our Secretary, Jacqui Parkes, whose details are on the Mid Wales & Shropshire Group site www.members.aol.com\dcsmwsgroup or email Jacqui at JacquiP311@aol.com

Thanks
Clive
